Smitline for ChatGPT.

Can ChatGPT make phone calls? Not on its own. With Smitline connected, ChatGPT can make phone calls for you: tell it who to call and what you need, Smitline calls the US or Canadian number in a natural voice, and ChatGPT tells you what was said and agreed. What you need: ChatGPT on the web, on any plan, Free included. On a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, an admin has to allow it first.

Calls use prepaid credit, by the second while connected.

Set it up

Smitline is in private beta: signing in needs an invite. Get early access

Good to know: On ChatGPT Business, only admins and owners can add a custom MCP server. On Enterprise and Edu, an admin grants the “Create plugins with MCPs” permission.

From OpenAI: OpenAI: add a custom MCP server (opens in a new tab), OpenAI: plugins in ChatGPT (opens in a new tab). Checked 1 November 2026.

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, click + and choose Add custom MCP server.

  2. Name it Smitline, paste the server URL, and set authentication to OAuth:

    https://app.smitline.com/mcp
  3. Tick I understand and want to continue, choose Create as a plugin, check the tools, and install it.

  4. Sign in to Smitline when asked, and allow access. Then, in a new chat, type @ and pick Smitline.

Then ask ChatGPT to make a call

It says it’s an AI calling for you and follows the calling rules. Ideas: what people hand over. Another app? Pick yours. Everything else, from following a call live to the full list of tools: the docs.
