Smitline for Cursor.

Can Cursor make phone calls? Not on its own. With Smitline connected, Cursor can make phone calls for you: tell it who to call and what you need, Smitline calls the US or Canadian number in a natural voice, and Cursor tells you what was said and agreed. What you need: Cursor on any plan.

Calls use prepaid credit, by the second while connected.

Illustration: setting up Smitline in Cursor. ~/.cursor/mcp.json: "smitline": { "url": … }. Then: Customize → MCP → Connect. The result: connected with OAuth. Cursor can make phone calls.

Set it up

Smitline is in private beta: signing in needs an invite, and the invite says where to make the API key for YOUR_SMITLINE_KEY. Get early access

Good to know: Cursor asks before it uses a tool. Approve Smitline’s call tool when the agent asks.

From Anysphere: Cursor: MCP (opens in a new tab). Checked 1 November 2026.

  1. Add Smitline to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in one project):

    ~/.cursor/mcp.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "smitline": {
          "url": "https://app.smitline.com/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  2. Cursor shows Smitline under Customize → MCP. Click Connect, sign in to Smitline and allow access.

Or use an API key

  1. Add a header with your key instead:

    ~/.cursor/mcp.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "smitline": {
          "url": "https://app.smitline.com/mcp",
          "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_SMITLINE_KEY" }
        }
      }
    }

Then ask Cursor to make a call

It says it’s an AI calling for you and follows the calling rules. Ideas: what people hand over. Another app? Pick yours. Everything else, from following a call live to the full list of tools: the docs.
