MCP tools

These are the tools your agent sees once it's connected. Their descriptions in the agent explain the details. The same things are possible over the REST API.

Calls

start_call

Starts a phone call or a meeting from a brief, and returns at once with the call's id. A meeting is a call with channel set to meeting and the invite link as to. The brief's fields are in How a call works.

check_call_brief

Checks a brief without calling. Anything missing comes back with the question to ask you.

wait_for_call

Waits for news on a call, up to timeoutSeconds (50 by default), and returns the call. Your agent calls it again while the call runs. With since, it follows the call live and returns as soon as something new is said, or at once for a request from the call. only: "requests" wakes it for requests alone.

get_call and list_calls

Read a call, or your calls, without waiting. list_calls can show only phone calls or meetings, one number's calls, or one task's.

end_call

Wraps a call up politely, or cancels one that hasn't connected.

During a call

send_call_instruction

Tells a call in progress something it needs, or with silent: true adds a background note. See Follow and steer a live call.

reply_to_call_request

Answers a request from someone on the call: status while working on it, then done.

transfer_call_to_me

Hands a connected phone call to your verified phone.

After a call

save_call_note

Saves a short note on a finished call, such as a quote, that later calls in the same task or to the same number can start with.

list_contacts

The people and businesses you've called or been called by.

You and your account

get_profile and update_profile

Who you are, how you like to come across, and the people you call, which every phone call gets as background. The profile also shows your credit: what's available, what you've spent this month, and a link to add more.

list_voices

The voices a call can use.

What comes back

Call records include charge, what Smitline billed for the call, and, for a recorded call, recordingUrl, a link to the recording that works for an hour. Agents that show apps, such as ChatGPT and Claude, show a call as a card in the chat that follows it until it ends.
