Quickstart
This takes about five minutes. You'll make an account, connect your AI agent, and have it place a practice call to your own phone.
During the private beta, signing in needs an invite. No invite yet? Ask for one on the early access page.
1. Make your account
- Sign in to the Smitline dashboard with your email address and open the link we send you.
- Tell Smitline your name. Every call is made on your behalf, in your name.
- Verify your phone number. Smitline uses it for practice calls, and to hand a call over to you.
- Add credit in the Wallet, from $10, which covers about 50 minutes of calls. You pay only while a call is connected. See pricing and billing.
2. Connect your agent
Add Smitline to your agent as a custom connector (also called a remote MCP server) with this address, then sign in with your Smitline account:
https://app.smitline.com/mcpWhere to paste it depends on the agent. In ChatGPT it's Plugins, in Claude Customize → Connectors. Steps for each agent are in Connect your agent. Writing your own code instead? Use the REST API.
3. Place a practice call
Ask your agent:
Use Smitline to call my phone for a practice call. Pretend to book a table for two at 7 pm on Friday.Your agent writes a brief and starts a rehearsal, a call to your own verified phone. Answer it and play the restaurant. Smitline says whom it's calling for and that it's an AI assistant, asks for the table, and hangs up when it's done.
4. Read the result
When the call ends, your agent tells you the outcome, the details (here, the time you agreed on) and anything still open. The full transcript is in the result too, and on the call's page in the dashboard.
Next
- How a call works: what happens between the brief and the result.
- Phone calls: write briefs that get real calls done.
